Traveling to O'Hare With Kids: Car Seats, Timing and Tips

Updated

Confirm child-seat requirements before booking

Tell dispatch the child-seat needs for the trip and confirm whether you will bring your own equipment. Do not assume that ticking a request guarantees a particular seat model. Use current official child-passenger guidance and the seat manufacturer’s age, height and weight limits when selecting appropriate equipment.

Count luggage as well as passengers

Include every traveler and all bags when selecting a vehicle. Explain any stroller, travel cot or oversized item to dispatch. Published bag capacity may not represent the space needed for unusually large items. Confirm that the vehicle and seat arrangements fit the whole family before travel.

Plan the terminal part separately

Check the airline’s current guidance for checking bags, strollers and child equipment, and current security guidance for your family’s items. Allow time to load, unload and organize the group. Avoid relying on a general traffic estimate as the complete time needed to reach the gate.

Choose and confirm the meeting point

After arrival, collect your bags and complete formalities before requesting curbside pickup. Meet & Greet can provide an indoor meeting point; confirm it before leaving the terminal. Keep your booking reference and a charged phone available, and call dispatch if the flight or passenger arrangements change.

Check airport transfer estimates and pricing conditions, read the O’Hare and Midway pickup instructions, or get a quote for your trip. For booking changes, call 312-350-7319.
